David Songulashvili participated in the sitting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie

The Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, the Head of the Parliamentary Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie (APF), David Songulashvili participated in the sitting of the Committee on Parliamentary Affairs of the APF.

The Committee members overviewed the political situation in their countries. The President of the Parliament of Montenegro, Andrija Mandić; and the Deputy Prime Minister of Montenegro, Aleksa Bečić addressed the attendees.

The delegates discussed and adopted the draft reports on “Impact of Disinformation on Parliamentary Activity” and “Roles of Parliaments in Facilitation of the French Language”.

The sitting was attended by the representatives of the Parliaments of up to 15 APF member states from various continents.

D. Songulashvili overviewed the EU integration reforms in Georgia and noted that the economic reforms facilitate the economic welfare of the population and allow the business to ensure investments in the long run. According to him, the legislation of Georgia has already been approximated to over 60% of the DCFTA legal acts.

“We strive to direct all the reforms we undertake in Georgia to successful economic integration with the EU. I would like to highlight that we have already submitted the “Economic Reforms Program 2024-2026” to the European Commission, which ensures the approximation to the EU market, the implementation of the EU Association Agreement and the fulfillment of the EUAA commitments. Hence, soon, we will be prepared to become a part of the EU market”, - he stated.

The Parliamentary Delegation is also represented by David Kacharava.
